Independent’s Anna Bailey – Leadership Profile – Presented by KTAG

The Independent High School

Leadership can come in many forms. Some teammates are vocal and push their peers to success while others may lead by example. The Independent cheerleader Anna Bailey is a senior on the squad and a leader who uses both techniques to help her squad be successful.

“Being a leader means you aren’t afraid to stand out. As a cheerleader, you learn your voice can really make a difference, and a leader should be willing to use their voice with pride,” said Bailey.

Bailey said she loves her team and teammates and what they bring to the team for each member.

“I love the constant support; it creates an environment that any athlete would be lucky to have. Everything I want to say sounds cheesy, but it’s true. They are always looking for innovation, but we also love our team traditions,” said Bailey.

Also a member of the National Honor Society, Blue Fan Club, and Thespians, Bailey said being part of the Independent family is something special for all students and student-athletes.

“Independent provides student-athletes the opportunity to try everything. Even if you have never touched a ball in your life, there is always a spot for you. I am truly grateful for the abundance of encouragement from our teachers and coaches, they bring the Independent family together,” said Bailey.

Her future plans include attending college out-of-state.

“In the fall I plan on attending Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas where I hope to study political science and Spanish,” said Bailey.
