Wichita Independent School senior Leah Hong shared in a recent interview with VYPE “My personal goal for this next year is to have the best senior year possible. I want to stay completely involved in all of the extracurricular activities that I do, and at the same time, try new things. For most people, senior year can be stressful, but I am 100% looking forward to making so many exciting memories as a senior this upcoming year and living senior year to the fullest!”
Hong will also continue her involvement with the TIS volleyball team. Where she says “My favorite part of being on the volleyball team is seeing everyone improve so much from the beginning of the year to the end and connecting with other girls who have a love for the sport.”
Although when naming the teammate who has impacted her the most she spoke about a fellow TIS soccer player sharing “The teammate who has left the biggest impression on me would probably be Sydney Puetz. She was actually a senior at Garden Plain High School and she played soccer on the Independent team last year. She’s a brilliant soccer player, incredible leader, and an amazing person and I am so glad that I was able to play on a team with her last year!”
She went on to tell VYPE that of all the things she’s done recently “The most fun I’ve had this past year was going on my trip to Scotland to volunteer for a Young Life camp.” She has also participated in “The National Honor Society (NHS), Habitat for Humanity ,and helping with blood drives.”
Among her other extracurriculars are “Josten’s Renaissance, Young Life, National Spanish Honors Society/Spanish Club, National Honors Society, Scholar’s Bowl and Student Council.”
